NMS Steampunk Series Vol. 5: Landship Somme. This is a historic site from the Battle of Landship Somme. After a century of peace following the Eloi/Morlock Civil War tensions came to a head when the Morlocks started expanding their domain by invading smaller neighboring regions to enlarge their borders and acquire more resources. After peace talks failed the Eloii had no other choice but to declare war on the aggressive Morlocks. This was the start of the Great Eloi/Morlock War. At first the Eloii were no match for the Morlocks revived war machine. Outmatched and suffering many loses in battle the Eloii devised a new communication technology and sent out a distress signal throughout the Euclid galaxy. Fortunately a Traveller received the call and helped form a alliance of Travellers, Gek, Korvax and Vy’keen and came to the aid of the Eloii. The Battle of Landship Somme saw the first introduction of steam Morlock Landships which became known as tanks, nicknamed Evil Horseshoe Crabs by the Eloii. At first they were unstoppable but when the allied forces arrived they used their combined terrain manipulators to isolate the Landships by eroding the terrain around the Landships pretty much marooning them and they proved to be unaffective weapons. This caused a quick end to the war and peace talks resumed and ended the Great Eloi/Morlock War. Explore the refurbished Landship and see the weaponry and steam powered mechanics. See how the crew lived and operated the Landship. Visit the small memorial. We hope you visit and enjoy your time here.
Notes
Please allow time for base to render in. Also if base icon doesn’t appear when making the first portal jump, try to go back and try again. I’ve found since the Beyond update I have to retry portal jumps when the base icon doesn’t load in. Please leave communications stations at the portal. Enjoy your visit!

A portmanteau of "marine" and "Eden", the Mareden base project is an underwater tribute to the biblical Garden of Eden, hosting most of the vegetation capable of being farmed. Simple in design, its main attraction is the right square pyramid composed of stacked bio-domes. The plants grown are arranged according to the ratios necessary to manufacture both stasis devices and fusion igniters. The rest of the base hosts the various terminals and eventually personal living quarters once more aquatic base parts become available.
Notes
Due to the high volume of bio-domes, the rendering of the base will likely impede the frame rate noticeably. Please be patient and thanks for your understanding.
NMS Steampunk Series Vol. 3: Battle of New Hampton Roads. This is a historic site of the famous Ironclad Airship Battle during the Eloi/Morlock Civil War. After the 2nd Eloi/Morlock War both races united and lived peaceably for many years though there was always a underlying tension due to the fact that the Morlock regions oppressed and subjugated the local Korvax to slave labor. War erupted after the Morlock regions seceded from the Eloi/Morlock union. While initially the war was over region rights it ultimately became about the freeing of the Korvax. Unfortunately it took a century for the Korvax to eventually have equal rights. Explore both the Eloi (USS New Monitor) and Morlock (CSS New Virginia) Ironclad airships. Teleporters provide easy access to both. Explore the armament and crew quarters. A small monument marks the location of the first and only engagement of the ironclads. Enjoy amazing views from the balloon observatory deck. For the more adventurous, jet pack to and from the ironclads. We hope you enjoy your visit to this historic site.

Up is a tourist destination site which is a tribute to the Traveller from Earth, Carl Fredricksen and his cohorts Russell and Dug. Legend has it that Carl’s balloon house landed at this location eons ago. Though no one is certain for sure, historians believe Carl helped the original inhabitants of the planet stave off a apocalyptic event. Apparently the planet’s atmosphere was evaporating due to some unknown force but Carl caused this to reverse by him releasing some of the helium from a few of his balloons which caused a chemical reaction to the atmosphere which started to replenish itself. In thanks to Carl, Russell and Dug, a replica of his house was erected and many monuments placed throughout the site to honor them saving the planet. Not much is know about who erected this site for they left the planet roughly 1,042 years ago and no one is sure where they resettled. Most historians believe they have become nomadic and look out to help other planets in peril. We hope you visit this historical heritage site. Explore inside Carl’s house. Visit the hidden “balloon botanical garden”. Explore the Blue Shroom Cavern and hidden spa but beware cavern entrance is booby trapped with neurotoxic flora, be prepared! For the more adventurous explore the underwater caves and submerged statues. Listen to one of Russell’s music compositions in the 420 Studio/lounge in the attic of the house. Much of this system’s discoveries are unnamed and visitors are encouraged to discovery these and name them after favorite film characters. Enjoy your stay!
Notes
I tend to push the base building complexity limit so there might be some pop in and rendering when trying to land on the landing pad so please keep that in mind when approaching. There are storms about every 10 minutes which last roughly 3 minutes. We encourage visitors to wait out the storms by exploring inside the house and botanical garden as well as the caverns. Also if base icon doesn’t appear when making the first portal jump, try to go back and try again. I’ve found since the Beyond update I have to retry portal jumps when the base icon doesn’t appear.
