Base Description The Grand Vizier’s Botanical Gardens. This site is a garden, shrine, and memorial to the Earth prog rock band Pink Floyd. Intergalactic fans of the group come here to honor, reminisce and show appreciation to the band and its music. There are many gatherings here as well as concerts including holographic shows of the original band. Other tribute bands also play here live. One of the most popular, Fuchsia Lloyd, can draw large crowds and have been known to play all request shows. Even if you are not a fan of the band it is an idyllic location to relax and stroll the gardens. On the site’s perimeter, one will find monuments that display some of the bands more recognizable song lyrics. This and surrounding planets fauna, flora and minerals are largely undiscovered and unnamed and it is encouraged for visitors to discover and name discoveries. Preferably with names of bands, songs or music related subjects. Enjoy your visit!

Base Description Mandala Sithadel Is a historic site of the summer palace of Herod Horst the last reigning king of the Eleazarians. After the Eleazarians fled New Masada after the Great Seige of the First Eleazar-Flavius War, King Herod Horst established a new kingdom in a nearby system. The Kingdom was never found by the invading Flaviusian Empire which in time collapsed due to internal strife and over expansion. So the Eleazarian society flourished and evolved into a democratic society after Herod Horst abdicated and ended the monarchic system. Come visit the history and beauty on planet Sithadel. Explore the guard towers, marvel the architecture of the palace which was inspired by lily pads to the ancient builders of the palace. See how the king lived and governed in his living quarters and throne room. Observe the palace high above on our viewing platforms. Take a swim in the pool and also explore the palace underwater for a unique perspective. Follow the clues to find and open the hidden Treasure Chamber. We hope you visit and please leave a communication station at the portal and tell us where you are from.

Base Description New Masada is a historic site and location of the Great Seige during the First Eleazar-Flavius War. Before the war New Masada was the palace/fortress of King Herod Horst. With the outbreak of war and initial crushing defeats Herod opened the gates of the fortress to serve as a refuge for his subjects and to consolidate his forces in a defensive position. The invading Flaviusians were a multi system empire which conquered many neighboring systems to expand their territories. The Great Seige lasted many years but ended when the Flaviusians constructed a large Seige Tower. Seeing that the seige tower would be no match for their fortress walls the Eleazarians fled the fortress through a secret passageway and kept the Eleazarian race alive which thrived once the Flavius Empire collapsed. The Flaviusians purported the myth that the Eleazarians committed mass suicide to prevent being captured and enslaved but now historians know this lie was to help the Flaviusians save face with the fact the defenders all escaped. While the fortress ultimately was captured, the Flaviusian Empire eventually imploded due to over expansion and internal political strife. We hope you decide to visit and explore this historic site. Wander the halls and rooms of the fortress/palace. Marvel the beauty of the Throne Room. Visit the house of worship, sanctuary and the Priest’s quarters. Find the hidden escape passageway and dungeon. Explore and interact with the Seige Tower. Try to find the hidden spot where the Flaviusians nearly breeched the wall by tunneling underneath it. Climb the winding stairway to the summit of Chimney Rock (or use our teleporter for convenience). Enjoy the “hanging gardens”, see how the inhabitants lived while under seige conditions. We hope you enjoy your visit. Please leave a comball at the portal and tell us where you are from.

Base Description NMS Steampunk Series Vol. 5: Landship Somme. This is a historic site from the Battle of Landship Somme. After a century of peace following the Eloi/Morlock Civil War tensions came to a head when the Morlocks started expanding their domain by invading smaller neighboring regions to enlarge their borders and acquire more resources. After peace talks failed the Eloii had no other choice but to declare war on the aggressive Morlocks. This was the start of the Great Eloi/Morlock War. At first the Eloii were no match for the Morlocks revived war machine. Outmatched and suffering many loses in battle the Eloii devised a new communication technology and sent out a distress signal throughout the Euclid galaxy. Fortunately a Traveller received the call and helped form a alliance of Travellers, Gek, Korvax and Vy’keen and came to the aid of the Eloii. The Battle of Landship Somme saw the first introduction of steam Morlock Landships which became known as tanks, nicknamed Evil Horseshoe Crabs by the Eloii. At first they were unstoppable but when the allied forces arrived they used their combined terrain manipulators to isolate the Landships by eroding the terrain around the Landships pretty much marooning them and they proved to be unaffective weapons. This caused a quick end to the war and peace talks resumed and ended the Great Eloi/Morlock War. Explore the refurbished Landship and see the weaponry and steam powered mechanics. See how the crew lived and operated the Landship. Visit the small memorial. We hope you visit and enjoy your time here.

Base Description NMS Steampunk Series Vol. 4: S.S. Mark Twain. This is a historic site of the famous paddle wheel steam airship S.S. Mark Twain and it’s home port Moreau. Before pulse and hyperdrive technology was introduced to this system the Eloi and Morlock races traveled by air with steam engines and balloons. This airship was famous for its luxurious means of travel for the times, it’s onboard casino, comfortable lodgings, two bars and restaurant as well as live music concerts held outside on the main deck. During the Eloi/Morlock Civil War it served as a troop transport, mail deliveries and hospital. After the war it became a popular cruise line showing tourists the beautiful planet Moreau. The airship became a vacation destination and not just a regular shipping vessel after the airship was brought out of retirement and refurbished. We hope you decide to visit. View the steam airship from the balloon observation deck. Dine at its 5 star restaurant. Lodgings include both staterooms and more economical private rooms. Try your hand at some gambling. Sunbath on the main upper deck. Enjoy the outdoor aquarium and terrarium. Have a top shelf cocktail at either Tom’s or Huck’s bar. Peruse the art galleries. Learn the ancient travel methods of steam power from our helpful docent. Enjoy popular “jam band” live concerts outdoors on the Phish Deck. Also don’t forget to explore the historic holo-terminus docking platform of Port Moreau. We hope you visit and enjoy your stay.

Base Description NMS Steampunk Series Vol. 3: Battle of New Hampton Roads. This is a historic site of the famous Ironclad Airship Battle during the Eloi/Morlock Civil War. After the 2nd Eloi/Morlock War both races united and lived peaceably for many years though there was always a underlying tension due to the fact that the Morlock regions oppressed and subjugated the local Korvax to slave labor. War erupted after the Morlock regions seceded from the Eloi/Morlock union. While initially the war was over region rights it ultimately became about the freeing of the Korvax. Unfortunately it took a century for the Korvax to eventually have equal rights. Explore both the Eloi (USS New Monitor) and Morlock (CSS New Virginia) Ironclad airships. Teleporters provide easy access to both. Explore the armament and crew quarters. A small monument marks the location of the first and only engagement of the ironclads. Enjoy amazing views from the balloon observatory deck. For the more adventurous, jet pack to and from the ironclads. We hope you enjoy your visit to this historic site.

Base Description NMS Steampunk Series Vol. 2: Fort H.G. Wells This historic site is where the 2nd Eloi/Morlock War started. The war was brought on by the Morlocks impressing Eloi airship sailors to bolster their ranks for their ongoing system wide war with the First Spawn Gek. The 2nd Eloi/Morlock War is considered a minor theatre of the Gek/Morlock War by most historians. Fort H.G. Wells is the site of the first major battle of the war. Visitors can explore the ancient fort which is still in good shape despite a prolonged bombardment by the Morlocks. The fort defenders quarters are open to the public despite some deterioration. Explore the fort and it’s grounds. Try to find the secret room. Interact with the armory and bomb storage areas. Check out the Weena lighthouse and the beautiful views from HMS Argonaut. Base Description NMS Steampunk series Vol. 1: HMS Steampunk This historic site is where the first airship battle occurred during the Eloi Revolutionary War. In a time before the invention of pulse and hyperdrives, transportation was via steam engines and balloons filled of lightweight elements in this system. Main weapons were cannons and torpedoes. The Eloi race wanted independence from the Morlocks and their oppressive rule. This site is where the Eloi airships first engaged the Morlock forces. While the Eloii lost the battle, their defiance helped ignite the uprising and they eventually won their freedom, however that was to be short term. Visit the restored airship HMS Steampunk. Explore the gun decks and wheelhouse. For the adventurous reach the crows nests. See how the crew lived by observing their living quarters. Check out the captain and first mates quarters. Base Description Up is a tourist destination site which is a tribute to the Traveller from Earth, Carl Fredricksen and his cohorts Russell and Dug. Legend has it that Carl’s balloon house landed at this location eons ago. Though no one is certain for sure, historians believe Carl helped the original inhabitants of the planet stave off a apocalyptic event. Apparently the planet’s atmosphere was evaporating due to some unknown force but Carl caused this to reverse by him releasing some of the helium from a few of his balloons which caused a chemical reaction to the atmosphere which started to replenish itself. In thanks to Carl, Russell and Dug, a replica of his house was erected and many monuments placed throughout the site to honor them saving the planet. Not much is know about who erected this site for they left the planet roughly 1,042 years ago and no one is sure where they resettled. Most historians believe they have become nomadic and look out to help other planets in peril. We hope you visit this historical heritage site. Explore inside Carl’s house. Visit the hidden “balloon botanical garden”. Explore the Blue Shroom Cavern and hidden spa but beware cavern entrance is booby trapped with neurotoxic flora, be prepared! For the more adventurous explore the underwater caves and submerged statues. Listen to one of Russell’s music compositions in the 420 Studio/lounge in the attic of the house. Much of this system’s discoveries are unnamed and visitors are encouraged to discovery these and name them after favorite film characters. Enjoy your stay!
Notes I tend to push the base building complexity limit so there might be some pop in and rendering when trying to land on the landing pad so please keep that in mind when approaching. There are storms about every 10 minutes which last roughly 3 minutes. We encourage visitors to wait out the storms by exploring inside the house and botanical garden as well as the caverns. Also if base icon doesn’t appear when making the first portal jump, try to go back and try again. I’ve found since the Beyond update I have to retry portal jumps when the base icon doesn’t appear.
