Two particular novels, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, written by author J.R.R. Tolkien sparked his imagination. The vivid descriptions of Hobbiton, also known as the Shire, inspired Hesperus to construct a version of it. He hoped this creation would inspire others to read the novels and be able to experience his vision of Middle Earth in person.
